Growing up by lakes on farmland in Alexandria, Minnesota, Daniel Alkato moved to Los Angeles to pursue music after enduring heartbreak of threefold - his close friend and sister passed, and a romantic relationship ended.
His debut album “When You Look at Me” takes you through love and heartbreak - from a starry, summer lust on a dock, to a breakup hymn, to feeling no shame from recalling past relationships fondly. In other tracks, he realizes what makes a home, home, and questions how outward appearances affect perception - if we truly want to understand each other.
For those interested in bringing lyrics to life, Daniel’s first music video “When You Look at Me” is now live. Daniel doesn’t just lip sing the song with flashing lights, instead he gives you an opportunity to answer the main question posed in the song and take insight into the rest of the album.
