Growing up by lakes on farmland in Alexandria, Minnesota, Daniel Alkato moved to Los Angeles to pursue music after enduring heartbreak of threefold - his close friend and sister passed, and a romantic relationship ended.

His debut album “When You Look at Me” takes you through love and heartbreak - from a starry, summer lust on a dock, to a breakup hymn, to feeling no shame from recalling past relationships fondly. In other tracks, he realizes what makes a home, home, and questions how Los Angelenos perceive him and his minimalist lifestyle.

Coming next, “When You Look at Me” music video will be released this October, filled with symbolism of new beginnings.
